As one of our Editors put it, "The Sausalito Art Festival is a party for the whole world. The Caledonia St. Festival is a party for Sausalito. They're both tons of fun, but they're very different experiences."
The traditional Caledonia St. Spring Faire has been renamed the Caledonia Street Festival for 2012, and will celebrate the 75th Anniversary of the building of the Golden Gate Bridge. Over 7,000 people typically attend this event, which adds up to the entire population of Sausalito!
Over 100 artists and craftspeople will display their work in booths lining Caledonia St. Three different stages will feature a wide range of local and international music and dance. There's always great food, and a children’s play area. Since 2012 has been a year of late rains, we'll mention that the Faire will happen rain or shine.
We'll add the music schedule to this page once it's published.
The Caledonia Street Festival in Sausalito started out twelve years ago as a joint project between the Sausalito Nursery School and the City of Sausalito, which combined two previous events (Spring Faire and Caledonia Street Fair).
Caledonia Street in Sausalito will be closed from very early morning to late at night on May 27 to accommodate the event.
