Fast Forward SummaryTM: This small, casual restaurant in northern Sausalito has an almost fanatical local following, and draws a regular stream of visitors from around the Bay. Consistently ranked at or near the top of many of our surveys (as you can see from all the honorary hardware adorning this page), despite the informal location in a plain building with no view. Cuisine is a unique fusion of Indian, Mexican, American, Pakistani and pure imagination. Part of the charm here is what we call "the spontaneous menu." There is nothing reasonable you can request that Ashok, the gracious host, won't try to prepare for you. No dairy in your dish? No problem. Gluten free recipe variation? Of course! Mild spices or extra red hot? No problem. Vegetarian or vegan version of a meat dish on the menu? Happy to do it! You can describe your favorite meal of all time in any cuisine and then ask the kitchen to surprise you with something Avatar's-style you're likely to love. I'll stop there -- you get the idea that this is a unique, very personal experience that has produced all these individual dining fans. Going off the menu and asking for unique flavor combinations can add at least a couple of dollars to the cost of each dish. If you come in on the Ferry, the location is outside of most visitors' walking distance from downtown Sausalito, so a visit requires a drive or a taxi. This is a place where no one talks about the architecture, but lots of people rave about the food.
