The email subscriptions to this site are handled by FeedBlitz. We will not sell nor share any email addresses or other information to or with any third parties, nor send promotional emails without the user's explicit advance written permission. You can cancel or initiate a subscription at any time.
Any cookies affiliated with your access to our sites come from our hosting company, Typepad, and we have no access to nor control over any information in them.
Typepad, Google Analytics and StatCounter make available to us standard general data on site visitors, including operating system type, language, IP address for the Internet connection (which is potentially user-identifiable), etc. We do not store any of this specific information, do not share it with others, and use it only in the aggregate to build profiles of our audience for potential advertisers. Example: We gather and report how many of our visitors are from California, from the US and from overseas, since different advertisers are interested in different audiences. As it ages the sites that offer us this information drop it off their reports and we lose access to the visit-specific data in as little as a few hours, retaining only the grand totals.
We have not changed our approach to these issues since founding OurSausalito.com in 2008. If we were to make any changes in policy they would probably be minor and we would report them here.
The Legal Stuff
OurSausalito.com and its online pages are opinion sites. We write about what we think of restaurants, hotels and other establishments. Our opinions are not all-defining or necessarily similar to anyone else's opinion, they merely report what we experienced or what others have related to us as their experiences. It is possible that a visitor may receive poor service at a business where we say we experienced good service, and vice versa.
Our Online Experience IndexTM is calculated using proprietary formulas to weight a variety of online sources and opinions, and the output of that process is then filtered and reviewed by people. Its conclusions are likewise opinions, subject to interpretation and disagreement.
We gather and share a great deal of information from a wide range of sources. In addition to accurate information. our sites may contain errors or inaccuracies. We do not make any warranty as to the accuracy or reliability of the site's content. Links to content on and quotation of material from other sites are the responsibility of the owners of those sites, and OurSausalito.com is not responsible for them.
If you see something posted anywhere in our site that seems inaccurate, please email us. We value your feedback and appreciate your help in making corrections.
Although most of the videos and photos we share are created by our team, we use some Creative Commons images under the appropriate licenses. We also occasionally use some business-supplied publicity photographs of restaurants and hotels. If you ever see an image on this site where you believe the use of the image is inappropriate or display rights are in question, please inform us immediately by leaving a comment on the relevant article or by emailing us.
