Sausalito Summer Concerts for Kids in Robin Sweeny Park
The series of summer concerts for kids at Robin Sweeny Park in Sausalito (see map below) is a long-standing tradition here, one that went on hiatus in 2016 as the park was renovated. This year they have added Tot Art in the Park as an activity for families after each concert.
The music is back for 2017, and the names will be a welcome and familiar sight. You can click on the links below to reach the musicians’ websites or see videos of their performances. Music will be played from 10:30 to 11:15 AM the second Saturday morning of each month, and the Tot Art in the Park activities will run from 11:15 AM till Noon. The concerts are organized by the Sausalito Dept. of Parks & Recreation and sponsored by the Sausalito Lions Club.
July 8, 2017 — Miss Kitty, perennial local family favorite who has a wonderful way of connecting to kids
August 12, 2017 — Tim Cain, children’s music recording artist and co-founder of The Sons of Champlin (which the grandparents will appreciate!), one of the most popular local bands that “went national” during the heyday of “the San Francisco sound.”
September 9, 2017 — James K., a fixture for years at this event
October 14, 2017 — Kenny Blacklock, who plays bluegrass and American folk songs for children.
Note: The City is looking for additional volunteers to help out with the new Tot Art in the Park events. For more information or to volunteer, please contact or call Linda Finch at firstname.lastname@example.org or (415) 289-4152. (Note: the first time you email anyone at Sausalito City Hall you’ll have to do a one-time email confirmation so you bypass their spam filter. It’s quick and easy but surprises some people.)
