Farley Bar
A Well-Deserved Honor: Farley Bar is named in honor of cartoonist Phil Frank, who passed away in 2007 and is one of Sausalito’s favorite sons. His comic strip “Farley” ran for over 30 years in the San Francisco Chronicle, and he also was the author of several books, including one on photos showing the history of houseboats in Sausalito.
Farley Bar is adjacent to the high-end restaurant Murray Circle at the Cavallo Point Lodge in Fort Baker just south of Sausalito, part of the GGNRA. Although it is the restaurant’s bar, Farley Bar also serves snacks and some lunch items.
If you’re in the area and looking for something to eat (and don’t mind premium prices for fresh organic food), Farley Bar has some good choices. The $17 grass-fed beef burger is flavorful and fresh… which is a lot more than I can say for a lot of the $17 hotel restaurant hamburgers I’ve had in my career!
Something else that people should know about Farley Bar? Should someone build a Closely Bar that’s not so far from downtown Sausalito? Disagree with any of our suggestions? Please let us know!
