Sausalito has been a town of writers and artists for generations, and it shows in the town library. In particular, the City has prioritized connecting the library to online resources and making it a part of the Internet age. For example, if you do an online search for the library's graphic novels you come up with this page.
The Library is part of Marinet, the county-wide library system, which allows residents of any participating city in the region to check out books etc. from any member library.
The Library's links to local and state government resources are listed here.
Sausalito residents can download ebooks and videos.
The Library's programs for kids can be accessed here, and for teens the page is here.
The Library places major emphasis on information for boat owners and sailors, and their special online page for this collection is here.
The section with information for business owners also has its own dedicated online page.
Computers and Computer Classes at the Sausalito Library
The Library has computers you can reserve in advance for use on site.
Classes are regularly offered in basic computer skills, sponsored by Friends of the Sausalito Library.
The Library also has links to basic computer and typing instruction sites. They will also help you set up a free email account.
Sausalito Library Speakers Series
This bi-monthly program presents book authors and other speakers of interest to the local community.
We post upcoming events here on OurSausalito.com, and the speakers program page for the Library is here.
The Sausalito Authors Shelf
The Sausalito Library recently set up a special area devoted to Sausalito authors and their works. The initial collection includes 180 authors, and the Library continues to add works as they learn about authors living or working in Sausalito.
They also have a Sausalito Authors binder that serves as a comprehensive guide to "who's writing what from Sausalito." If you know of a local writer with published work, they'd love to hear about it.
