Six Sea Lions Released at Farallons by Marine Mammal Center
We've been reporting multiple stories this summer of sea lion strandings in downtown Sausalito and that the volume of sea lions brought into the Marine Mammal Center had doubled this year.
We thought you'd enjoy hearing that the Marine Mammal Center was able to release six young sea lions last Saturday who've grown strong enough to go back into the wild. One was "Fruitvale", who stopped traffic on the freeway in Oakland a few weeks ago, and another was stranded at Fort Baker on the southern edge of Sausalito.
The Center released this video of the release at the Farallon Islands, where they believe food supplies may be better for the animals.
