Pictures Posted from Party for Neighbor Displaced by Sausalito Houseboat Fire
On Saturday, July 25, members of the Sausalito Floating Homes community got together to throw a benefit party, complete with music and silent auction, to benefit neighbors displaced by the June 25th fire on Liberty Dock. Pirate costumes were encouraged, and some scalywags were sighted among the otherwise upright (and occassionally listing to port) members of our community.
You can check out pictures of the festivities here.
As generous as neighbors have been, the financial losses from the fire have been still greater. If you’d like to donate, you can send a check to:

Joe Tate and Maggie Catfish from the seminal Sausalito rock-blues band The Red Legs entertained. We don’t use the term “seminal” lightly: the poster at left is not for this event, it’s from the same musicians doing a Sausalito benefit 37 years ago in 1972, and the handbill was on sale at Wolfgang’s Vault for $225.00. (At least the old one I had and tossed is priced at only $95…)
Facilities for the July 25 benefit event were generously donated by Dr. Steve Egri of Sausalito’s Harbor Veterinary Services.
