Time: Student Art Show & Open Studio: 11:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Studio Anniversary Party Sat. August 29, 5:00 – 8:00 PM

Directions: From Bridgeway turn west (uphill) on Coloma, turn right into MLK School parking area after playing field. It's the first building – #7, first door.
Price: Free, but you may see some pottery you want to buy and that's a private discussion between you and your pocketbook.
Often the pressures of deadlines and learning about events late keep us from reporting on fun events put on by local Sausalito businesses. (We love getting announcements 2-4 weeks before an event, hint hint hint.) In this case, students who have studied at Sausalito Pottery made sure we knew that their teacher was having an open studio and throwing a 7th Anniversary Party!
In any event, you'll be able to see the work of Lorna Newlin (she of the octopus bowl) and some of her students, and celebrate the studio's seventh birthday.
In addition to her skills as an artist, Newlin has won cooking awards at the Marin County Fair, and promises that the celebration will include her 2008 best of show winning recipe of Chicken Liver Pate, and 2009 winner Sour Cream Coffee Cake, along with many other tasty treats.
Sounds good, but we're still thinking about the octopus.
