Last summer saw the arrival of the mysterious black-hulled yacht, which made everyone in town wonder if a Bond Villain was moving in. At least until we broke the story of its name and owner.
This year the phenomenon has taken place again, only this time the yacht looks like a re-envisioned navy vessel from the Great White Fleet.
This yacht is simply named "A" (so it always comes first in any alphabetical list of super-yachts) and is owned by Russian billionaire Andrey Melnichenko. The ship's launch generated significant press coverage.

The sixth largest yacht in the world, the ship was designed by Phillipe Starck and built by Blohm and Voss in Germany. Its 118 meter length makes it 26 meters longer than 92-meter (225 ft.) #64 Attesa from last year… which I guess is the whole point of having a bigger mega-yacht than the other billionaires.
2013 Update: A has now fallen to be "only" the 18th largest super-yacht in the world.
