Galilee Harbor Maritime Day is an all-day annual festival to celebrate the 35th anniversary of a community that has kept boat working and arts alive since being formally organized in 1980 (and dating back over 50 years, to 1962). In addition to fish n’ chips, drinks, and pie, there will be activities and exhibitions to experience as described below. This event has been put on by the Galilee Harbor Community Association since 1983.
Live Music offers a diverse mix from Fiver Brown, Ukulele Friends Ohana.
Theme: “Celebrating our past and bright future on the Sausalito waterfront!”
Boatbuilding Demos: The Arques School of Traditional Boatbuilding will demonstrate their work.
Boat Rides: You can go out on the S/V Santa Carodon and on the Spaulding Wooden Boat Center’s M/V Dixie.
The Bayside Environment: You can see a great blue heron (in addition to the one based on the rocks near our office a few blocks to the north of their location!) and several egrets near Mono Street marsh.
Galilee Harbor Community Association is a non-profit, cooperative, maritime neighborhood dedicated to continuing the maritime arts and skills while providing affordable floating housing on the Sausalito waterfront.
