Muir Woods and Marin Birds

As old growth redwood forest Muir Woods provides a long-term safe haven for many species, and as such you’re more likely to see birds here than in the patches of forest that separate adjacent towns in the Bay Area.

I know from friends who are hobbyists that Muir Woods and the adjacent areas of the GGNRA are great spots for trained bird watchers.  We sort the list of bird species that visit the park below to prioritize those you’re most likely to see in the current season, and the links go to their Wikipedia pages.
