Fast Forward SummaryTM: This small, modern hotel is about a mile north of tjhe Sausalito city limits, on the north shore of Richardson Bay (a branch of San Francisco Bay). If you stay here you'll need a car to reach downtown Sausalito, or a $12-$15 taxi ride each way. Right on Highway 101, so convenient for access to San Francisco. Generous rooms, big tubs, some fireplaces, and the front desk people are good at their jobs. Make sure to get a room on the Richardson Bay side and not one that faces 101, where freeway noise can be a big problem even with the insulated walls and windows. The hotel is an odd shape, so what faces the freeway can be open to discussion -- if in doubt either get them to confirm that your room is well away from the freeway or stay somewhere else. Free (tasty) continental breakfast, high speed internet access.
