Guide to Sausalito Bus Routes, Bus Stops and Bus Fares
See Getting to Sausalito for airport buses to San Francisco and Oakland. See also the Sausalito Ferry page and the Sausalito Ferry schedule for both Ferry services.
Golden Gate Transit and Marin Transit both serve Sausalito. They provide many direct links to San Francisco, and have routes that serve Mill Valley, Corte Madera, Larkspur, Greenbrae, San Rafael, San Anselmo, Fairfax, West Marin, Ignacio, Novato, Petaluma, Rohnert Park and Santa Rosa, as well as other Sonoma County locations. There is also limited service to the East Bay. Click on the links below to see the current bus schedules.
Not every route stops at every stop on every trip. For example, routes 4, 70 and 80 travel via Highway 101 and the Spencer Ave. stop on some runs, and via Bridgeway and downtown Sausalito on others. We have links below to help you sort it out.
Be sure to check the actual schedule to see which times the bus route comes to your desired stop. If in doubt, call 511, request a live operator, and ask them which trips stop at your bus stop.
What's below:
-- A list of the principal Sausalito bus stops in sequence (both north to south and south to north), so you can see which stop is between which hubs.
-- A complete list of all Sausalito and Marin City bus stops, with a link to the schedule for every bus route that stops there.
-- Travel between Sausalito and San Francisco costs $3.40 one-way for adults, and there are discounts for kids, seniors and the disabled. Travel within Marin is $1.80 for adults.
-- You can check other current bus fares by clicking here. Look in the left hand column for the area where you start your trip, then find the column for your destination. The box that intersects the row and column lists the fare.
How to Read the Charts: For hubs and major stops, click on the route numbers below to see the route's schedules. Be sure to check for weekday and weekend differences, and for northbound and southbound differences.
For smaller bus stops, the online schedules do NOT list every stop the bus will stop at, just major stops and hubs. You can infer the time for intermediate stops based on the scheduled times when a bus will come to regular stops.
List of Sausalito Bus Stops in South-North and North-South Order
This list of Bridgeway stops in sequence in each direction below will help you estimate when buses will arrive. Some stops serve both northbound and southbound traffic with benches and/or shelters on opposite sides of the street. A few stops serve only northbound or southbound buses, and these stops are labeled below.
