Pohono Street Park and Ride Lot

Parking at this public lot is free with a time limit of 72 hours (after which cars may be towed), although it is adjacent to an office building and looks like it’s their lot. Just make sure to check the signs to confirm you’re in the Park and Ride area, which is the section closest to Highway 101. This lot is located about 50 yards north of the Sausalito-Mill Valley city limits.
Note: The Muir Woods Shuttle operates only during the summer (May through October) and during major Holiday Weekends. Except for Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years service has now ended for 2015.

The Muir Woods Shuttle always stops at the Marin City Transit Hub.
On weekends and holidays additional pick-ups and drop-offs in this area are at two different parts of the Pohono St. Park and Ride Lot in Sausalito. On weekdays (and weekday service is offered only from May through October), the Muir Woods Shuttle uses the Manzanita Park and Ride Lot, which is just on the other side of the freeway from the Pohono lot, as a drop-off point coming back from Muir Woods It’s a relatively short walk beneath the overpass between the two lots, although deep puddles can be a problem when it rains heavily or at times when there are very high tides.
The Muir Woods Shuttle is Route 66F on weekdays to signify that it adds an additional stop in each direction that connects Muir Woods to the Sausalito Ferry (during those times of the year when the Muir Woods Shuttle is operating on weekdays), and Route 66 on weekends, when there is no ferry connection.
The Two Pohono St. Muir Woods Shuttle Stops & When Each is Used
In an effort to save three or four minutes on some trips, the Muir Woods Shuttle stops at two different places at the Pohono St. Park and Ride Lot.
On Shoreline Highway at Pohono St.: On weekdays ONLY (and during the parts of the year when weekday service is offered, from May until October) the Muir Woods Shuttle picks people up at the edge of the Pohono Park and Ride lot where it borders Shoreline Highway.
Inside the Park and Ride Lot’s Parking Area: On weekends both pick-ups and drop-offs take place inside the lot itself, near the Highway 101 overpass.
