Turney Street Sausalito Boat Ramp

The Turney St. Sausalito Boat Ramp is a public facility for boaters that gives free access to Richardson’s Bay and San Francisco Bay. It’s located between The Joinery and Salito’s Crab House, on Turney St. Use “200 Turney St.” as the GPS address; it’s located just east of Bridgeway (see map below).

A dinghy dock is also available here. It’s the only public Sausalito boat ramp in the city, although the GGNRA also operates a boat ramp nearby at Fort Baker.

The underwater concrete portion of the Sausalito boat ramp was built around 1960 and was originally planned as the site for a city-owned floating dock for marine access. Its ramp had been cracked and broken in some places, and was repaired and refurbished in 2017 to make it easier to use the Sausalito boat ramp at both high and low tides. A new 80 foot long aluminum gangway was added that’s four feet wide, improving disabled access, along with a pedestrian ramp. The old gangway was narrower and only 30 feet long. One brief part of the installation is in this video:

Piles at the adjoining docks were also relocated to make it easier to launch and re-trailer boats at the Sausalito boat ramp, especially at low tide. The new, longer gangway also extends out into deeper water.

Note: Some older websites advise you to park near an adjacent vacant building and they say that this is OK. The vacant building is now Bar Bocce and the reserved parking in all the local restaurant lots is enforced.  See our Parking in Sausalito page for more information on where to park.
