Poggio, Sushi Ran Repeat on 2011 Chronicle 100 Restaurants List
Just two years ago Sausalito had four restaurants in Michael Bauer's Top 100.
Last year it was three: Murray Circle at Cavallo Point Lodge, Poggio Trattoria, and Sushi Ran.
This year only Poggio and Sushi Ran made the list. Ironically, in the opinion of our editorial team the dining experience at Murray Circle has improved over the last year, so this was a real surprise to us.
That said, we think that Michael Bauer often makes sense, as with his policy that "a restaurant where it is impossible to hear your companion without each of you shouting is not a good dining experience." (Our paraphrasing of several of his reviews, none of which were for places in Sausalito).
