The Holiday Shoppe
Sausalito’s Year-Round Christmas Store
721 Bridgeway, Sausalito, CA 94965 (See Map Below)
Phone: 415-332-7432 Email: info@theholidayshoppe.com
If you’ve been here before, please note that the Holiday Shoppe has moved from their prior location and is now across the street and a half block closer to the Ferry pier. As regular customers, we’re thrilled that they survived the craziness of the pandemic and its aftermath. Their phone number has not changed.
Neighborhood: Downtown & Ferry Pier. Website is here. City parking lots two blocks north, plus metered parking half a block to the south and a private lot half a block to the south as well.
I like coming here, and I don’t care what anyone else says about buying Christmas ornaments in July!
It’s one of those issues where best friends, siblings and couples can all have very different opinions: Is a year-round Christmas store a good thing or an excess of The Christmas Spirit?
I’m usually one of those people who complains about hearing Christmas music in October, but if we’re walking by on a nice springtime afternoon I still like popping into The Christmas Shoppe and looking around. We buy a few new Holiday items here each year, but it’s hard to guess whether those purchases will come in April or December.
- I’ve never seen a holiday store with so much variety in its items.
- They have higher quality items, not cheap pieces with “Sausalito” stenciled on them.
- They have more different breeds of dogs and cats on their Christmas ornaments than I’ve seen anywhere else, which means that we buy some hard-to-please friends’ birthday gifts here in February and July. (Yes, I’m a dog person and my sister-in-law is a cat person, and we have the Holiday Shoppe ornaments to prove it.)
- They have nautical ornaments for a town that’s crazy about boats.
- They have that classy-not-kitschy San Francisco ornament that your college buddy Kristin won’t fly home without buying.
- Their prices are very reasonable.
- They have fabulous contraptions that I’ve never seen anywhere else.
- And the people who work here are nice.
Note: I just re-read what I’ve written and edited about The Holiday Shoppe over the last 15 years (and two relocations of their space!) on this page and I know it sounds like a sponsored post. We have no business relationship with the Holiday Shoppe, apart from being happy repeat customers. If they ever do become sponsors of this site, all advertisements on OurSausalito.com are labeled clearly to distinguish them from editorial content.
