Napa Valley Burger Co.
Napa Valley Burger Co. replaced the landmark Winship Restaurant in downtown Sausalito in Spring, 2012, after Winship’s run of close to 50 years starting with its original name of Sausalito Sweet Shoppe.
NVBC’s home is the oldest brick building (1875) in Sausalito. They removed the booths and dividers from the old space, opening up the room, and (although some of our editors miss the antique-style glass and trappings of one of their childhood haunts) the new layout is pleasant and inviting. Our first meals there have been good, although the pricing of the burgers is premium and the non-basic options rival the cost at Buckeye, Le Garage and Farley Bar. Like Le Garage, you can also get a Kobe Beef Burger. They also have salads and items such as fish and chips, which on our last visit were made with mahi mahi.
Something else that people should know about Napa Valley Burger Co.? Wondering if any zoning laws are violated by calling a Marin County Restaurant a Napa County name? Should we counter-attack and start a Sausalito Burger Co. in downtown Napa? Disagree with any of our suggestions? Please let us know!
