What's the best "view restaurant" in Sausalito? It all depends on what you're looking for.
Price ranges quoted are for dinner entrees at time of most recent review. Restaurants that we have reviewed are indicated with " Sea Lions" (for dinner places) or "
Elephants" (for breakfast and lunch spots).
Here's our completely personal and subjective list of the restaurants with the best views in Sausalito, followed by a complete listing of all places we'd call View Restaurants. Remember that in this Top Ten we're disregarding the quality of the cuisine, and only rating the view from their typical tables. If a couple of tables have great views but the rest do now, we lower the ranking accordingly.

Partial Bay Views
Most of these restaurants have some tables with great views, but their orientation means we can't classify the whole place in the same category with Full Bay Views. Maybe it's that they have only a few view tables, maybe they're across the street from the water. The best tables here, however, are often as good as the ones at the restaurants in the top section.

Harbor Views
We have friends who think that these are the best views in Sausalito. These places all are adjacent to harbors where sailboats and yachts are moored, so you see the boats in the foreground and the Bay in the background. "Where would you sail in THAT one?"

Cool Street Scene Views
Many places in Sausalito have sidealk seating, but these three do the best job of reproducing the experience of being at a sidewalk cafe in Europe.
