We are devoted long-time Giants fans who can’t go to as many games as we’d like. We sell off our extra tickets so we can afford to keep our season package even though we’re a regular family, not a corporation.
Our love of the San Francisco Giants goes back to childhood, especially the incredible 1962 season with Mays, McCovey, Marichal, Cepeda, Felipe Alou, Davenport, Kuenn, Haller, Hiller, Pagan, Matty Alou, Sanford, Pierce, O’Dell, McCormick, Larsen, Bolin, Miller and a rookie named Gaylord Perry, that “almost was 2010” and ended with the Willie McCovey line drive to Bobby Richardson.
38 years later we attended Games 1 and 2 of the first World Series win, and then the 2012 and 2014 championships. We viewed the 2010 World Series celebration parade on the curb right at the beginning of the route on Montgomery, the same spot where the 1958 Giants were first introduced to San Francisco. And we survived the mess when the 2012 published start of the parade route turned out to be wrong by 4 blocks.
We first started buying season ticket packages over 30 years ago in 1987, fulfilling a lifelong dream and giving our kids a chance to grow up with Baseball. When the Giants built AT&T Park we became charter season ticket holders in the Field Club and earned our seats right behind home plate.
Our grandson recently attended his first Giants game, marking the 4th generation that our family has faithfully backed our home team.
